Core Gameplay and Modes:

1. Free Roam: This is the primary mode where most players spend their time. Choose a vehicle and a map, then simply explore. You can drive casually, set up your own crash scenarios, experiment with gravity, or spawn AI vehicles to interact with.
2. Scenarios: These are pre-designed mini-missions that offer specific challenges. This can include races, delivery missions, demolition derby events, police chases, or stunt challenges. The career mode was completely updated in September 2023, now including a tutorial and using the Branch EXP and Beam EXP systems.
3. Time Trials: Test your driving skills on various tracks against the clock. These often require precise driving and an understanding of vehicle dynamics to achieve the best times.
4. Campaigns: Collections of scenarios themed around specific topics, offering a more progressive experience as you master different aspects of the game.
5. Traffic Mode: Spawn AI traffic to simulate real-world driving conditions, or simply create chaotic multi-car pile-ups. The AI has adjustable parameters like “Patience,” “Risk,” and “Awareness.”
