The First Night: Survive and Thrive

When you first spawn in Survival Mode, your immediate priorities are:

• Gather Wood: Punch trees (left-click and hold) to collect wood. This is your most fundamental resource.
• Craft a Crafting Table: Open your inventory (E), place four wood planks (crafted from wood logs) into the 2×2 crafting grid, and drag the crafting table to your hotbar. Place it on the ground (right-click).
• Make Basic Tools: Use the crafting table to create wooden pickaxes, axes, and shovels. These will speed up resource gathering.
• Find Shelter: As night approaches, hostile mobs (zombies, skeletons, creepers, spiders) will spawn. Dig a small hole in the ground or build a simple dirt hut to protect yourself. Block the entrance!
• Mine for Stone: Once you have a wooden pickaxe, mine some stone. You can then upgrade your tools to stone, which are more durable and efficient.
