How to Play The Legend of Zelda: Getting Started
The Legend of Zelda series is primarily exclusive to Nintendo platforms. The latest and most popular titles are found on the Nintendo Switch.
To play the latest Zelda titles (e.g., Breath of the Wild, Tears of the Kingdom, Echoes of Wisdom):
- Acquire a Nintendo Switch: These games are designed for the Nintendo Switch console. You’ll need either the original Switch, Switch Lite, or Switch OLED model.
- Purchase the Game:
- Physical Cartridge: You can buy a physical game card from retailers (online or brick-and-mortar stores).
- Digital Download: Purchase the game digitally from the Nintendo eShop on your Switch console. You’ll need an active internet connection and sufficient storage space on your console or a microSD card.
- Ensure Storage: Modern Zelda titles are quite large. Tears of the Kingdom requires significant storage space (around 16 GB for digital download). It’s advisable to have a microSD card installed in your Switch for additional storage.
