To download and play on PC:
- Install Steam or Direct Download: You can download Warframe directly from the official Warframe website (www.warframe.com) or through the Steam client. If using Steam, search for “Warframe” in the store.
- Create a Warframe Account: If downloading directly, you’ll need to create a free Warframe account. If using Steam, your Steam account will be linked.
- Install the Game: Follow the installation prompts.
- Download Size: The initial download size can be around 35-50 GB, but with regular updates and new content, the total installation size can grow. As of the Warframe: 1999 update, the PC download size was approximately 4.60 GB for the update itself, with the overall game size being optimized. An SSD (Solid State Drive) is highly recommended for faster loading times.
- Launch and Configure: Once installed, launch the game. It’s advisable to adjust your settings:
- Graphics: Optimize settings for performance (high FPS) over ultra-high fidelity, especially in fast-paced combat.
- Controls: Experiment with keyboard/mouse or gamepad settings. Many players find a gamepad more comfortable for movement and ability usage.
- FOV (Field of View): Adjust your FOV for better situational awareness.
- Audio: Fine-tune audio levels for enemy cues and ability sounds.
