Wattcraft: Power Grid Builder

Wattcraft is a calm, readable strategy game about keeping a growing city lit. You don't build the city. It grows by itself, street by street, across the real coastline, hills and harbour of Hong Kong. You build the grid that feeds it. BUILD THE NETWORK Place coal, gas and solar plants, drop substations to cover homes and offices, and run power lines between them. Pylons carry lines farther, heavy lines carry twice the power, and batteries carry you through the night. Outgrown a site? Move a power building with its wires attached, or upgrade a substation to a regional one where it stands. READ THE LOAD Every wire shows its flow. Every building shows how much energy it has left. Trouble always shows up before it hits: a blackout is a planning mistake, never bad luck. SURVIVE THE PEAK Demand rises into the evening. Solar fades at sunset. Very hot days push up air-conditioning load and typhoons strain the lines. Overloaded wires trip their breakers and push load onto their neighbours. TAKE ON THE CITY'S PROJECTS A data centre, a stadium, an MTR depot, a desalination plant: the city announces each one a day ahead. Power it fully to earn new equipment and refill every building's reserve. Some mornings bring a contract: stake a piece of equipment on a goal, and win it back with a reward. GROW WITH THE CITY Hit a milestone and pick your reward: more generation, more neighbourhoods, or more connections. Equipment is scarce, so every slot counts. Build across the whole of Hong Kong, take on Taipei, or start fresh on a random map.
