About this game
Stelline is a calm Star Battle-style logic game for people who solve by reasoning, not by trial and error. Every board is generated on your phone or tablet, verified to have exactly one solution, and graded by the same deduction engine that powers its hints. No ads, no account, nothing leaves your device. THE RULES Place one queen in every row, every column and every coloured region, and never let two queens touch, not even at a corner. When that feels easy, switch to 2-star mode: two stars in every row, column and region, still never touching. UNLIMITED BOARDS, EACH ONE PROVEN - Built on your device: nothing to download, no pack to run out of. - Every board is checked by an exact solver before you see it: exactly one solution, always. - 1-queen boards from 6×6 to 11×11, up to 12×12 on tablets; 2-star boards from 9×9 to 11×11. - Compete: Today's board, the same for everyone on Android and iPhone, Daily Rush, optional leaderboards, an archive of past boards, Stats and history. TACTICS: THREE MINUTES, ONE TAP PER BOARD - Every position is a board part-way through a solve. Tap the cell where a queen can be proven right now. - A wrong tap costs a life and shows the answer with the idea behind it, named and explained. DIFFICULTY GRADED BY DEDUCTION - A deduction engine with seventeen techniques solves each board the way a person would, from neighbour dots to line locks, counting arguments, X-wings and fish. - Easy, Medium and Hard boards need direct deductions only, in both modes. Expert is labelled honestly: it needs what-if reasoning. HINTS THAT TEACH - Hint first counts misplaced queens and dots without saying where they are: zero and zero means your reasoning holds. - Show me where walks you through one logical step at a time: the row, column or region behind the next deduction, then the cells, then the technique explained in a line, applied only when you tap Do it. - Hints are unlimited. Solve with none, and no conflicts, for the Flawless badge. LEARN BY PLAYING - First steps teaches the rules and the controls on a real board, with you making every move. A second lesson introduces 2-star mode. - Techniques and Advanced: one lesson per idea of the solver, from last cells to X-wings and the what-if step, explained on a real position, then practised on fresh positions. CONTROLS BUILT FOR CLEAN SOLVING - Tap a cell to cycle it: empty, dot, queen or star. - Drag across cells to dot them. A placed queen or star dots its eight neighbours for you. - What-if marks: open a branch, try a queen, follow the dots it forces; keep what held or drop it all in one tap. - Auto-check stripes queens or stars that touch or exceed a row, column or region; optional. - Undo, redo and clear. A timer you can hide. Your game saves itself after every move: leave, come back, tap Continue. MADE FOR EVERY PLAYER - An original pastel palette, or the Classic black-and-white look with heavy region borders. - Colour-blind mode: high-contrast colours, a fill pattern for every region, thicker borders. - Light, dark or system theme. Six pieces to choose from, a dot or an X as your mark. - On tablets and Chromebooks: the board beside its controls in landscape, keyboard and mouse. - TalkBack support, with hints read aloud; large font sizes and the remove-animations setting are respected. - Seven languages: English, Deutsch, Español, Français, Italiano, 日本語, Português (Brasil). PRIVATE BY DESIGN Stelline has no account, no ads and no analytics, and it does not even ask for internet access: your boards, settings and progress stay on your device, and nothing is collected. The optional Play Games leaderboard runs through Google Play services and is off until you turn it on. A logic puzzle that plays offline: on a plane, underground or anywhere else. FROM ONE DEVELOPER Stelline is made by Andelis Studio, a one-person studio, with its own engine; the same engine runs on Android and iPhone, so Today's board is identical on both. One aim: a fair puzzle, every time.
