THE GAMES • Antiquity: the Royal Game of Ur (Mesopotamia, c. 2600 BC), Pente Grammai (Greece), and Latrunculi, XII Scripta and Three Men's Morris (Rome). • Middle Ages: Hnefatafl, the Viking king's table, and Nine Men's Morris. • Peoples of the World: Oware / Mancala (Africa), Patolli (Mesoamerica), Kōnane (Hawaii) and Tavli (Greece). • Cards: Conquián, the Mexican game that gave birth to rummy, and Cribbage, the English game of cards and pegs. In Ludéum you pick the one you want: Ur with Irving Finkel's rules, 9 × 9 Tablut or 11 × 11 Hnefatafl, Oware or Kalah, Tavli as Portes, Plakoto or Fevga, Conquián with a Spanish or French deck, and more.
