About this game
Tap the cardboard ring and the paper wrestler trembles forward. Paper sumo (kamizumo) is a Japanese children's game: two folded-paper wrestlers on a box, moved only by drumming on the lid. This is that game, with real paper and cardboard textures and a physics simulation. ■ How to play • Tap the screen rapidly: the box shakes and your wrestler inches forward • Push the opponent out of the ring, or topple them, to win • Tap too hard and your own wrestler falls. Rhythm is everything ■ Three ways to play • vs CPU: a quick bout on your own • 2 Players: put one device between you and drum on your own end • Online: in the same room, connect directly over Wi-Fi/Bluetooth (no sign-in); far away, play through Game Center ■ Design your wrestler Choose a ring name, face, skin, hair, mawashi colour and pattern, and paint anything you like with the brush. The caller announces your wrestler and the referee's "Hakkeyoi, nokotta!" starts the bout. ■ Details • Paper folds, corrugated cardboard, a wood-grain table: the textures of the real toy • The paper wears out with use and can be replaced with a fresh sheet • The decisive moment replays in slow motion and the winning move is announced • Tsugaru shamisen music, wooden clappers and a cheering crowd One purchase, no ads, no in-app purchases. Music: Tsugaru Janbara Bushi / Momijiba Music
